If anyone was wondering what happened to me — I can say I know what it is like to go through a bad Hurricane. Actually, I slept through the storm that night as it came ashore to Houston, the center of the storm actually came just about 8 miles east of my condo, where it hit downtown pretty hard. I had been preparing my attorneys for an out of town trial and had worked the previous 21 days straight in a row, even Labor Day. They gave us off that Friday to board up our houses for Hurricane Ike. Like I said, I slept all day and all night and didn’t even know it happened until of course I woke up without power. I was lucky, my power came back within 36 hours. Everyone else in Houston and Galveston had it much worse. I have several friends that lost their homes.

I lost my home to a flood two years ago and had to rebuild it from scratch. I started a blog at http://harvardtohardhat.com/ with free advice on negotiating with the insurance company and rebuilding your home. I hope it can help some of your friends who lost their homes to Hurricane Ike.
